"The surest way to keep a secret is to make someone think they already know the answer."
Frank Herbert, Heretics of Dune
Answers can fix our understanding in rigid boxes. When we arrive at a destination, our desire to search often wanes.
We need to push against that instinct for the clean endings, and keep our natural sense of curiosity alive. When we look to the current boundaries of our assumptions, we can extend our knowledge of the world even further.
All that is to say: we can use our understanding as a tool to give up or we can use it as a tool to further spark curiosity and deepen appreciation for what we thought we knew. The choice is in our hands every day, every moment.
