“That which submits rules.”
Frank Herbert, Dune
In the words of a mentor: sometimes, we need to move backwards before going forward. The arrow is drawn back for the sake of flying forward. Great buildings are erected to touch the skies, but only after the ground is dug deep into and the foundation is set. Winter’s death enables fallow grounds to produce in the spring to come. We must stop and think, before we can go out and do.
On and on, these dualities fill our world. May we have the clarity to see whether we’re in the backwards or forward phase, and the wisdom to put such knowledge to our best use.
